UER completed the analysis, coordination, arc flash study design, and commissioning of the High and Low voltage distribution systems for infrastructure required to build the new hydroelectric dam. The scope of the work included data gathering, electrical system analysis, modeling, protective device coordination, short circuit analysis, arc flash analysis, lighting risk assessment and design, grounding design and specification, power systems design and specification, site inspections for conformance to design, and commissioning of the high and low voltage electrical distribution systems. Commissioning includes testing and operational verification of the cables, electrical devices and protective devices with respect to time response per NETA for the following facilities:

These projects were executed at diesel generating facilities through out Nunavut. All work completed was extremely sensitive to operations because the facility serves remote arctic communities. All execution of the work required incorporated well planned shut downs to minimize impact on the operations. The respective work was completed on time and the client representative expressed satisfaction in the finished product with written completion certificates issued where appropriate.
